Pisa, Day Two continued

After lunch, we retrieved our car from the overpriced garage and headed to Pisa. We had no clue where the Leaning Tower was located in Pisa, but really, how hard could it be to find it? Oh, the story of our traveling life. You'd think we'd learn, but we always find what we're looking for eventually--even if it's 6 months later when you realize you really were in the garden where Maria and crew frolicked while singing "Do-Re-Mi" and you didn't have to be disappointed you missed it, after all.  But I digress....

It seems so obvious, considering it's called the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but our first reaction upon seeing the tower in person was, "Wow! They weren't kidding. It really is tilty. Very, very tilty." It's another wonder that pictures just don't do justice.

We didn't pay to go up the tower, but we did pay to go into the cathedral. Steve and I kept saying they just don't make churches like they used to. Wow.

Steve took a nap on the grass while I did a little souvenir shopping. We also bought some amazing red grapes to snack on on the ride back to Florence.

Upon our return to Florence, we feasted on more pizza and pasta and enjoyed "the world's best gelato" for dessert. What a way to end a day!
